Melanin Child Stories is an inclusive bookshop specialised in children's and adult books that are underrepresented in this society. MCS exists ,aims to support diverse authors. Our journey started through a pop-up shop hosted by SASBS Events, who were willing to support Small Business. Thanks to the amazing response and encouragement from the community, Melanin Child Stories kept on growing.
We wouldn't exist without the support of passionate people and readers!

Boxes full of excellent books, interesting activities and cute little presents that shows us how representation truly matters when you see the face and eyes of your little melanin princes and prince lighten up in each box...no money cant buy that!

I finally got my #sulwe book from @melaninchildstories
This book tells a story of a little dark skin girl called Sulwe, that was very unhappy due to the colour of her skin!
Written by @lupitanyongo is definitely a book that every little dark skin girl and boy should read! I will share the book with my cousins once I finish reading it.
My auntie believes that loving ourselves is the first step to achieve anything in life!

My nieces loves their books.
The packaging was great and was very appealing to the children's eyes.
They loved how the kids looked like them. Saying: "that's me, that's me...; look her skin is like mine!" so they really felt included, which I think is important.
We will definitely be buying more books from you.
