Melanin Child Stories is an inclusive bookshop specialised in children's and adult books that are underrepresented in this society. MCS exists ,aims to support diverse authors. Our journey started through a pop-up shop hosted by SASBS Events, who were willing to support Small Business. Thanks to the amazing response and encouragement from the community, Melanin Child Stories kept on growing.

The Forest Gate Festival returns on Saturday, 11 July 2026. Taking place on Osborne Road from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, this free community event features over 120 independent stalls, street food, two stages of live music, and a dedicated well-being space.

Live Entertainment: Local and up-and-coming musicians, plus samba and brass bands across two stages.

Community Stalls: Market stalls selling antiques, vintage homeware, ceramics, and arts and crafts.
