CELEBRATING CHILDREN'S BOOKS
Melanin Child Stories
Melanin Child Stories is an inclusive bookshop specialised in children's and adult books that are underrepresented in this society. MCS exists ,aims to support diverse authors. Our journey started through a pop-up shop hosted by SASBS Events, who were willing to support Small Business. Thanks to the amazing response and encouragement from the community, Melanin Child Stories kept on growing.
We wouldn't exist without the support of passionate people and readers!
Reading age: 5 - 8 years old.
Grace loves to act out stories. Sometimes she plays the leading part, sometimes she is 'a cast of thousands.' When her school decides to perform Peter Pan , Grace is longing to play Peter, but her classmates say that Peter was a boy, and besides, he wasn't black... But Grace's Ma and Nana tell her she can be anything she wants if she puts her mind to it...
